Relationships between wildlife value orientations and social identity

Abstract Wildlife value orientations (WVOs) and social identity are important elements in the wildlife domain can predict attitudes toward wildlife-management-related issues. Therefore, understanding interrelations of WVOs identities is critical to successful conservation management. We carried out on-site face-to-face surveys with representatives four public groups particular Greece—the general ( n = 2392), farmers 405), hunters 124) farmers-hunters 158)—to study variations WVO types determined based on two basic WVOs, domination mutualism: traditionalist (high domination, low mutualism), mutualist (low high pluralist mutualism) distanced mutualism). The were more less than farmers-hunters. Female members males. Younger older members. did not significantly vary residence (rural or urban) any group. Females, males all age categories pluralist.
